TU Baseball Has Five Earn NAIA Scholar-Athlete Recognition

KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics recently announced its list of 2016 Daktronics NAIA Baseball Scholar-Athletes, with Jordan Crabb, Luke Hunter, Lincoln Reed, Logan Rodgers and Nathan Shelton making the list.
In order to be named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status at their current institution.
Crabb, Hunter, Reed, Rodgers and Shelton were among the 353 baseball student-athletes from around the nation to be named as 2016 NAIA Scholar-Athletes and were five of the 29 baseball student-athletes from the Crossroads League to be recognized.
Taylor ranked second in the Crossroads League with the five award winners, trailing only the six awards from Marian for the top spot in the league.
TU won its sixth Crossroads League Championship in eight years and set a program record with 40 victories during the 2016 season, while advancing to the NAIA National Tournament for the fifth time in eight years.
