AVON, Ohio – After leading the Taylor men's golf team to a fifth consecutive Crossroads League title last month, Taylor's Javan Johnson and Drew Pickering both earned All-Crossroads League honors, the league office announced this week.
Johnson proved himself as one of the top players in the Crossroads League with a stellar season that included a pair of victories and eight top-5 finishes. Johnson posted a 73.93 scoring average in 29 rounds this season, which marked the fifth best season scoring average in TU history. The redshirt sophomore from Franklin, Indiana won the Battle at the Henge and the Garn Championship and only finished outside the top-10 on twice in 12 events on his way to All-Crossroads League honors.
Pickering joins Johnson on the All-League team after posting a 76.54 scoring average in 26 rounds while playing his best golf down the stretch this spring. Pickering posted a tie for second place at the Crossroads League Championship last month where his final round even par 71 propelled the Trojans to a four-shot victory. The sophomore from Indianapolis, Indiana claimed seven top-10 finishes, including four top-5 finishes in 11 tournaments.
Fellow sophomores Noah Ross and Erik Fahlen earned All-Crossroads League Honorable Mention honors.
The Trojans will represent the Crossroads League at the NAIA National Championship at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois on May 18-21.
