James Grabs First Crossroads League Honor

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League tabbed Lauren James as the CL Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday for the first time in her career.
James instigated the Taylor offense through the team's two contests last week. The junior posted 41 points in 47 minutes of action, leading TU in scoring in both games. 30 points came from beyond the three-point line, as James hit 10 treys at a 66.7 percent clip.
The Seymour, Indiana native also impacted the games with 11 boards and 11 assists on the week. On Saturday, James fell just shy of a double-double with 22 points and nine assists.
James picked up her first career CL Player-of-the-Week recognition on Monday, giving Taylor a total of eight athlete-of-the-week honors this year.
The Trojans (1-1) will return to the planks in a matchup at home against Madonna (0-1) on Monday night at 5:30 pm.
