Berends Nets Weekly Honor from Crossroads League

INDIANPOLIS – The Crossroads League has named TU's Alex Berends as its Female Runner of the Week, two days after the All-American sophomore claimed the second Crossroads League Championship of her cross country career.
Berends finished with a time of 18:22.7 to finish nearly 30 seconds ahead of the next closest individual, leading a group of six Trojans among the top-12 and helping Taylor secure a third-straight Crossroads League Championship as a team.
The Hudsonville, Michigan native has been named the Crossroads League Runner of the Week after 10 of her 11 regular season races over the past two seasons and has claimed the honor five times during the 2015 campaign.
Berends and No. 4 Taylor (91-3) earned the league's automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships with the Crossroads League Championship. Nationals will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina on Saturday, November 21.
