Hunter Earns Second-Straight Pitcher-of-the-Week Honor

INDIANAPOLIS – For the second time in as many weeks, Taylor's Luke Hunter has been named the Crossroads League Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.
Hunter tossed a second-straight shutout in his lone outing of the week, striking out a career-high 14 batters and holding Indiana Wesleyan to four hits and one walk over seven dominant innings in the 4-0 victory.
Hunter currently leads all Crossroads League hurlers with five wins, 42 strikeouts and a .145 average against and ranks second with a 0.59 earned-run average over 30.1 innings of work in league play. The junior has led a staff that currently ranks No. 19 in the NAIA with a 3.20 ERA and a .214 average against.
Taylor has now claimed five weekly honors this season from the Crossroads League, with Hunter and Logan Rodgers each receiving a pair of weekly nods and Nick Hollowell garnering one award.
The Trojans (33-12, 15-3 CL), who received votes in the latest NAIA Top-25 Poll, are back in action on Tuesday at Saint Francis, with first pitch set for 2:00 pm in Fort Wayne.
