Crossroads League Release | TU Honors Page
JACKSON, Mich. – Senior outfielder Luke Picchiotti was awarded the Crossroads League Baseball Player of the Week for performances spanning April 7-13, during which he led No. 10 Taylor to a series win over Goshen by batting .545. The honor is Picchiotti's second of his career.
Picchiotti recorded at least one hit and one RBI in all four games over the weekend series, finishing with six hits in 11 at-bats and drawing three walks for a .643 on-base percentage.
The Arlington Heights, Illinois, displayed both his power and speed, notching a triple, a double, five RBIs, five runs scored and two stolen bases. Additionally, the centerfielder was a perfect 6-for-6 in his fielding chances during the week.
The two bags Picchiotti swiped versus Goshen moved him into eighth on the program's career stolen-base list since 2006, giving the senior 44 during his three seasons at TU. Furthermore, the three bases on balls moved Picchiotti's season total to 38 walks, marking a new career high and putting him into a tie for 11th-most in the NAIA.
No. 10 Taylor has now accumulated 10 Crossroads League weekly honors in 2025.
Picchiotti and the Trojans (33-8, 24-4 CL) look to continue their success when they begin a series at Indiana Wesleyan (23-13, 18-10) on Thursday, April 17.
