Pollard Earns MSFA Mideast League Weekly Honors
UPLAND, Ind. – The Mid-States Football Association has named Everett Pollard as its Mideast League Offensive Player of the Week, after the red-shirt freshman quarterback helped the Trojans to a 40-0 rout of Olivet Nazarene.
Pollard completed 11-of-12 passes to open the contest and ended the game with 20 completions in 28 attempts for 297 yards and three touchdowns. Much of the damage came through the first three quarters before Taylor pulled back the reins, with Pollard completing one-of-two attempts for five yards in the fourth quarter.
Pollard completed 10-of-11 passes for 150 yards to help TU bolt to a 20-0 lead in the first quarter and ended the opening half with 236 passing yards and two scores.
Pollard has completed 81-of-148 passes for 1,038 yards and 12 touchdowns through his first four collegiate games, ranking No. 13 in the NAIA with 279.8 total yards of offense per game, No. 14 with 259.5 passing yards per game and No. 17 in total passing yards.
The honor is the first for Pollard, who joins Dovi Gamble as the second Trojan to receive weekly recognition from the MSFA during the 2015 season.
Taylor (2-2, 0-1 MSFA) will head south to take on Missouri Baptist on Saturday. Start time is slated for 11:00 am (ET) and will be played off campus at 800 Maryville Centre Drive in Chesterfield, Missouri.
