UPLAND, Ind. - Two of the NAIA's most potent offenses will clash on Saturday, when RV Taylor hosts cross-county rival No. 13 Indiana Wesleyan in a battle for first-place in the MSFA Mideast League. Start time is set for 12:00 pm inside Turner Stadium.
SCOUTING #RV TAYLOR: TU continues to use a punishing ground attack to put away foes, ranking second in the NAIA in rushing and having ran for at least 190 yards in every game this year. Nathan Parker leads that unit, entering Saturday just 62 yards shy of 1,000 for the season.
SCOUTING #13 INDIANA WESLEYAN: The Wildcats boast one of the NAIA's best offenses, ranking top-five in points, yards and passing yards per game. Arjun Lothe has passed for over 300 yards in five-straight games and has racked up 13 passing touchdowns in the last two weeks.
LAST MEETING: Taylor and IWU traded scores to open the contest, before the Wildcats ran away with a 56-7 victory on October 19, 2024. The short-handed Trojan attack managed only 147 yards of offense in the game, and only 18 yards through the air.
SERIES HISTORY: Taylor is 2-5 all-time against Indiana Wesleyan on the gridiron, and 1-3 against the Wildcats under the direction of fifth-year head coach Aaron Mingo.
LAST TIME OUT: TU set a new single-game program record with 651 total yards of offense in a 63-0 win at Lawrence Tech on October 25. The Trojans averaged 9.6 yards per play in the game and piled up 429 rushing yards. On the defensive side of the ball, Taylor racked up a season-best eight sacks and finished with 12 hits behind the line of scrimmage.
TROJANS IN THE RANKINGS: A few Trojans are near the top of the NAIA in key statistics with only three games remaining in the regular season. Nathan Parker headlines that list at No. 4 with 117.3 rushing yards per game and No. 4 with 15 rushing touchdowns. Devin Stupples ranks No. 6 with 29.1 yards per kickoff return and Carter Loveless is No. 6 with 40.7 yards per punt.
TAYLOR RECEIVING VOTES: TU received 28 votes in the latest NAIA Top-25 Poll, maintaining the Trojans in the receiving votes portion of the rankings. Taylor's 28 points were the 31st-highest total in the NAIA.
