HARTFORD CITY, Ind. – The Crossroads League named Kyle Stidom as a Co-Player of the Week on Monday, after the junior guard continued his hot streak in a pair of Taylor victories.
Stidom averaged 22.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, 1.5 blocks and 1.5 assists per game, while connecting on 18-of-19 attempts from the charity stripe to help the Trojans notch a 61-54 win at RV Mount Vernon Nazarene and pull out a 53-52 victory against Spring Arbor.
The Indianapolis, Indiana native opened the week with a third-straight 20-point output, ending with 26 points, seven rebounds and four steals to lead all players in the win at MVNU. Stidom then added a game-high 18 points and paced TU with six boards and two blocks in the low-scoring win over Spring Arbor.
Stidom currently leads Taylor with 15.1 points and 5.7 rebounds per game and ranks No. 8 among all NAIA Division II players by connecting on 89.6 percent of his free throw attempts.
Stidom has scored at least 20 points in five of Taylor's games this season, including three of the last four and has scored a team-leading 17.3 points per game in TU's 11 victories.
The Crossroads League Player-of-the-Week honor is the first for Stidom, who follows Jesse Coffey as the second Taylor men's basketball student-athlete to earn the honor this season. Taylor now boasts 36 Crossroads League or MSFA Player-of-the-Week honors during the 2014-2015 campaign.
Stidom and the Trojans (11-7, 2-4 CL) will look to continue their strong play when they host No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan (17-1, 5-1 CL) in a cross-county battle on Tuesday at 7:00 pm.
