JACKSON, Mich. – Jason Hubbard was named the Crossroads League Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday, after posting a pair of 30-point gems and flirting with a triple-double in Taylor's 95-90 win over Bethel.
Hubbard averaged 31.0 points, 10.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game in TU's outings against Mount Vernon Nazarene and Bethel, while shooting it in at a 52.2-percent clip and playing 35.5 minutes per contest.
In addition to the stat line, Hubbard registered his second and third games with at least 30 points in the past four games, posted the 10th double-double in 23 games this season and took over the top spot as the CL's leading scorer.
Hubbard played well in key moments as well, pouring in 25 second-half points in Taylor's narrow defeat to MVNU, before going off for 30 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists to help fuel the Trojans' victory over Bethel.
Hubbard closed the week leading the CL with 22.7 points per game, third with 9.1 rebounds per game and fifth with 1.5 blocks per game.
The Crossroads League Player-of-the-Week honor is the first of the season for Hubbard and the second career honor for the All-American and CL Player-of-Year candidate.
Hubbard's honor gives Taylor a total of 26 CL, WHAC or MSFA Player-of-the-Week awards during the 2021-2022 year and is the first for the Taylor men's basketball program this season.
Hubbard and the Trojans (9-16, 5-9 CL) are set to return to play on Tuesday, February 8 for a 7:00 pm start at Spring Arbor (6-20, 0-14 CL).
