JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its weekly awards, with Izaiah Day collecting his first CL Offensive Player-of-the-Week Honors after an incredible shooting display at the Athletes in Action Christmas Tournament.
Day led RV Taylor to a team title in the red bracket, winning a pair of games behind an efficient offense. The junior sharpshooter began the week with a career-high 34 points against Milligan in a 102-91 win. Day missed just once from the field going 11-12 and 7-8 from beyond the arc as he was on fire the whole game, playing less than 45 minutes from his hometown.
The Middletown, Ohio native followed up his career-high scoring game with 23 points in a blowout victory over St. Thomas, 97-62. Day connected on six triples and shot over 50 percent from the field as the Trojans won the red bracket championship game in lopsided fashion.
Day was named the Athletes in Action Christmas Tournament red bracket MVP after an amazing shooting display across a pair of victories. The junior guard finished the tournament 18-24 from the field and 13-16 from downtown and added three assists and nine rebounds to his electric shooting.
Taylor's leading scorer ranks fifth in the Crossroads League in points per game and second in three-point percentage after it soared up to 50.7 following the pair of lights-out shooting displays in Xenia, Ohio.
TU student-athletes have already garnered 39 Crossroads League and MSFA Player-of-the-Week awards, along with six NAIA National Athlete-of-the-Week honors during the 2025-26 school year.
RV Taylor (10-3, 3-1 CL) takes the court next on Monday, December 29, against Olivet Nazarene (9-3, 5-0 CCAC) inside Odle Arena with tip set for 3:00 pm.
