Hoosier Honored with First Career Player-of-the-Week Award
Crossroads League Release | TU Honors Page
JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its latest installment of weekly honors, in which Taylor men's soccer player, Jackson Hoosier, was recognized as the CL Defensive Player of the Week.
The Colorado native played a pivotal role in the Trojans' only match of the week, which resulted in a big 1-0 win over Spring Arbor (5-6-1, 2-2 CL). Throughout the match, Hoosier embodied a stubborn presence on defense that helped lead the Trojans in limiting Spring Arbor to a mere two shots.
Meanwhile, the Trojan defenseman drilled his first goal of the season, the match's game-winning goal nonetheless. Mid-way into the opening half, Hoosier fired a missile from 30 yards out, just beyond the reach of the Cougar goalie and into the net's top-right pocket.
Thanks to his impressive two-way effort, Hoosier was recognized with his first-career CL Player-of-the-Week award.
At this point in the 2021-2022 year, TU Athletics now boasts a collection of 17 Crossroads League or MSFA Player-of-the-Week awards.
Hoosier and the Trojans (7-3-1, 2-1-1 CL) return to action on Wednesday, October 13, when they take on first-place RV Bethel (10-3-0, 4-0 CL) at 7:00 pm.
