Taylor Men Grab Third Place at the IWU Twilight Invitational
MARION, Ind. – The No. 11 Taylor men's cross country team began its season on Friday evening, putting together a third-place finish at the Indiana Wesleyan Twilight Invitational.
The Trojans' score of 109 was only bested by No. 3 Indiana Wesleyan (18) and No. 15 Aquinas (71) and better than three teams that were ranked or receiving votes in No. 22 Huntington (129), RV Campbellsville (180), and No. 16 Grace (302).
Freshman Nathan Burns paced Taylor with a sixth-place finish at 25:00.50 in his first collegiate race. Luke Harber was the next to cross the finish line with a time of 25:28.00, good for 16th place. Senior, Ben Eiffert, finished 30th with a time of 25:52.70 before a group of five Trojans finished between 37th and 45th. Zach McKowen and Zane Callison rounded out the top five for TU with both collecting personal bests, McKowen at 26:07.70 and Callison at 26:10.40.
Ryan Hanak, Bryce Noble, Alex Ortiz, and Joel Mumaw rounded out the top 50 finishers for Taylor.
The Trojans run next on Friday, September 15, at the 2023 Ray Bullock Invitational, with competition set to commence at 6:00 pm.
