Trojans Finish Eighth Amongst Top-Tier Talent at Seminole Invite
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Taylor traveled south to compete at the Seminole Invite in Tallahassee Florida, on Friday morning at the course where the NAIA National Championships will take place this November.
The Trojans showed well against a field comprised of mostly NCAA Division I squads, finishing in eighth with 249 points. Taylor placed eight runners in the top 91 of the field of 317 runners on Friday morning.
Luke Harber led the Purple and Gray with a 25th-place finish and time of 25:26.7. Ryan Hanak and Nathan Burns crossed the finish line next as the veteran squad had a trio of runners in the top-52.
Joel Mumaw carded a time of 26:21.5 followed by Jordan Burden and Alex Ortiz , who finished under 1.5 seconds apart at 26:35.6 and 26:36.9. Hunter Smith and Ethan Morgan were the final two trojans in the top-100 with finishes of 89th and 91st.
No. 5 Taylor (34-8) hosts the Ray Bullock Invitational on Friday, October 10 at 5:00 pm, in its next competition of the season.
