INDIANAPOLIS – The Crossroads League announced its 2015-2016 Women's Basketball All-Crossroads League Team on Monday, with Taylor's Kendall Bradbury and Cassidy Wyse taking honors for the Trojans.
Bradbury was voted as the Crossroads League Newcomer of the Year, following in the footsteps of Wyse, who was named the league's top freshman one year ago. Bradbury also claimed a spot on the Crossroads League All-Newcomer Team and was named Second-Team All-Crossroads League after a record-setting freshman campaign with the Trojans.
Bradbury started all 30 games during the regular season, averaging 18.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest, while shooting 49.3 percent from the field and 38.3 percent from beyond the arc. Bradbury was the only player in the Crossroads League to rank among to the league's top-10 players in scoring, rebounding, field goal percentage, three-point percentage and free throw percentage.
Along with leading the Crossroads League with 563 regular season points, Bradbury ranked first in the NAIA and third across all levels of NAIA and NCAA women's basketball in total scoring by a freshman and emerged as one of the league's elite talents down the stretch. Over TU's final 12 games, Bradbury averaged 23.5 points and 8.1 boards per game while shooting 44.2 percent from downtown.
Along with scoring in double figures in all but two regular season games, Bradbury netted at least 20 points a total of 14 times including a Taylor single-game scoring record of 39 points in an overtime win at Grace. Bradbury also set the program's all-time scoring record for a freshman.
Wyse earned a second All-Crossroads League selection in two years with Taylor, adding a Third-Team All-Crossroads League honor to the Honorable Mention All-League and Freshman-of-the-Year accolades from one year ago. Wyse started 25-of-27 games during the regular season, leading the club with 7.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.9 steals per game, while ranking second on the team with 13.1 points per outing. Wyse also topped the roster with five double-double performances.
Bradbury, Wyse and the Trojans (16-14) will play at No. 3 Marian (25-5) on Tuesday at 7:00 pm in the opening round of the Crossroads League Tournament.
