TU Women's Hoops Claims Three Scholar-Athlete Awards

KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics recently announced its list of 2016 Daktronics NAIA Women's Basketball Scholar-Athletes, with Taylor having the third-highest total in the Crossroads League with three award winners.
In order to be eligible to be named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status at their current institution. Taylor had all three of its eligible junior and seniors receive the honor.
Emma Brattain, Monica Compton and Taylor Degenkolb were among the 253 NAIA Division II women's basketball student-athletes from around the nation to be named as 2016 NAIA Scholar-Athletes and were part of a group of 33 student-athletes from the Crossroads League to be recognized.
TU closed the 2015-2016 campaign with a 16-15 overall record and in a tie for sixth-place in the league standings.
