Strong Week Earns Fischer Crossroads League Honor

AVON, Ohio – Madisyn Fischer paced the Trojans in scoring through two victories, on the way to a Crossroads League Women's Basketball Player-of-the-Week award.
Fischer posted a career-high 19 points on Monday against Madonna, going six-for-10 from the field and seven-for-seven from the free throw line. The senior added to her efficient night with six rebounds, three assists, three steals and three blocks.
The 5-11 guard sparked the Taylor offense against Asbury, scoring 13 of the team's 29 points in the first quarter. Fischer connected on three-consecutive triples for TU, helping the team gain an eight-point lead early in the contest. The Brimfield, Illinois native matched her career-best scoring output set earlier in the week with 19 points in the win.
Fischer picked up her first career CL Player-of-the-Week recognition on Monday, giving Taylor a total of nine athlete-of-the-week honors this year.
The Trojans (3-1) are scheduled for a home match on Tuesday, as they take on Brescia (0-4) at 7:00 pm.
