Warfel Collects Sixth CL Player of the Week Award

JACKSON, Mich. – For the sixth time this season, Kaycie Warfel has been named a Crossroads League Women's Basketball Player of the Week the league office announced on Monday.
The Taylor women's basketball squad, one of eight remaining undefeated NAIA teams and receiving votes in the national coaches' poll, has now collected 10 of 18 total CL women's basketball weekly honors this season.
With Monday's announcement, Warfel garnered her fifth CL Offensive Player of the Week accolade of her young career. The freshman guard led the Trojans past OUAZ and Arizona Christian with 26.0 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals per game, while shooting 40.0 percent from beyond the arc, helping RV TU to a 13-0 start.
It's Warfel's sixth total weekly recognition after sweeping both CL Offense and Defense Player of the Week awards in early November.
Warfel continues to lead the NAIA in points (27.8) and made field goals (9.5) per game, while ranking tied for third with 6.5 made free throws per contest. She's led Taylor in scoring in every game thus far, while shooting 47.1 percent overall and 40.0 percent from three-point range.
TU student-athletes have already garnered 39 Crossroads League and MSFA Player-of-the-Week awards, along with six NAIA National Athlete-of-the-Week honors during the 2025-26 school year.
The Trojans return to action after Christmas break with a pair of home games against ranked opponents. RV Taylor will host No. 22 Indiana Tech on Tuesday, December 30 at 6 p.m., before resuming league play versus No. 5 Marian at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 3.
