Taylor Continues to Receive Votes in Top 25 Poll
NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Taylor University women's basketball team (14-3, 4-3 CL) continues to receive votes in the NAIA Women's Basketball Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released by the national office on Wednesday.
TU garnered 47 points in the latest poll, up nine points since the previous poll was published in mid-December. The Trojans are tied with Loyola New Orleans for the eighth-most points among the 20 teams receiving votes outside of the Top 25.
Currently riding their best start through 17 games since the 2020-21 campaign, the Trojans are ranked 22nd in the NAIA in scoring (78.4) behind freshman Kaycie Warfel's NAIA-leading average of 26.5 points per game. In addition, freshman Madi Allen averages double figures at 11.0 points per outing along with sophomore Celina Blount's 9.5 points, 8.4 rebounds and 2.9 blocks per game.
TU is one of five Crossroads League teams appearing in the poll including No. 4 Marian (16-1, 6-1 CL), No. 6 Saint Francis (16-1, 6-1 CL), No. 21 Spring Arbor (15-2, 6-1 CL) and RV Huntington (13-4, 4-2 CL).
Dordt (16-1) moved into the top-ranked spot after jumping Bethel (17-1), who moved to the No. 2 slot. Campbellsville (16-1) remained at No. 3 while Marian and Freed-Hardeman (17-0) round out the top five teams.
The Trojans return to action tonight at No. 21 Spring Arbor for their fifth consecutive matchup against a ranked opponent, and third straight on the road. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. in Michigan.
