Jung Claims Title as Trojans Win
WARSAW, Ind. – Taylor's Nicole Jung claimed her 11th career victory on Saturday as the senior topped the field at the Battle at the Henge to lead the 4th-ranked Trojans to the tournament title.
Jung carded rounds of 75-75 to edge Grace's Lucy Young by one shot for the title.
The Trojans struggled on the firm and fast conditions of the 5,879-yard, par-71 layout of Stonehenge Golf Club but managed to hold on for the team title.
Taylor entered Saturday's final round with an 8-shot lead over No. 11 Saint Francis and No. 22 Grace. The Trojans held off a charge from Grace for a five shot victory, the third team title of the fall season for the Trojans.
In addition to Jung's round of 75, Taylor also counted a 78 from senior Annie Stimmel, an 81 from sophomore Emma Torres, and an 82 from senior Taylor French while senior Maddie Thomas carded an 83 as the Trojans posted a team score of 316.
The Trojans will conclude the fall portion of the schedule next weekend as TU travels to Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Indiana.
