Thomas Earns Top Ten to Lead Trojans
LOUISVILLE – Taylor senior Maddie Thomas posted a 1-over par 73 during the final round of the Nevel Meade Intercollegiate to claim a top-10 finish.
Thomas played her final seven holes at 3-under par to move up the leaderboard with one of the best rounds of the day on the challenging 5,960-yard, par-71 layout of Nevel Meade Golf Club.
Thomas did most of her damage for the week on the par-5's, playing the par-5's at 2-under par.
The No. 5 Trojans carded a final round team score of 316 to slip to seventh place in the 11-team field of NCAA Division I teams. The Trojans finished with a three-round total of 936 with scores of 310-310-316.
In addition to Thomas's tie for 10th place, Nicole Jung finished in 25th place with a three-round total of 234 (77-76-81) while Taylor French (78-83-77) and Annie Stimmel (78-74-86) both tied for 32nd place at 238. Rachel Coers added a tie for 68th place at 259 (83-91-85).
The Trojans will return to action on Friday, April 2nd for the first round of the Purgatory Intercollegiate at Purgatory Golf Club.
