UPLAND, Ind. – The honors continue to roll in for Taylor French of the Taylor women's golf team as the senior has been named a College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-District performer, earning a spot on the NAIA Women's At-Large District II Team recently.
French was one of four women's golf student-athletes out of 11 total individuals to be honored from NAIA District II, which includes all NAIA institutions from the states of Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi and Tennessee. The At-Large Teams include the sports of lacrosse, rifle, skiing, fencing, swimming, tennis, golf, men's volleyball, gymnastics, water polo, hockey and wrestling.
French earned the honor with a 3.76 cumulative grade-point average in graphic art. The O'Fallon, Missouri native enjoyed a stellar senior campaign, serving as a key cog for the Trojans throughout their run to a fourth-straight Crossroads League Championship and a historic runner-up finish at the NAIA National Championships this season. French won the Crossroads League Individual Championship in dominant fashion with a seven-shot victory, before taking 10th place at the NAIA National Championships.
French received plenty of honors after finishing top-10 in 13 events this season and closing the year with six-straight top-five showings, before taking 10th at Nationals. In addition to setting TU's single-round scoring record with a four-under 68 in the second round of the CL Championship, French was named an All-Crossroads League and NAIA Second-Team All-American standout.
The honor for French moves TU's NAIA-leading total of CoSIDA Academic All-District selections for the 2020-2021 year to 27. French will now advance to the ballot for the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team, which is set to be announced on August 3.
