Five Trojans Earn All-League Honors

UPLAND, Ind. – After leading the Trojans to a third place finish in the Crossroads League regular season standings, Taylor volleyball's Rachel Bouma, Julia Fahy, Becca Gerig, Alex Reel, and Kelly Arnold each earned post-season recognition with All-Crossroads League honors, the league announced on Monday.
Bouma and Fahy each earned first-team all-conference honors for the Trojans after leading Taylor to an 11-7 Crossroads League record and a third place finish in the regular season standings. Bouma, a sophomore middle hitter, finished the season with 216 kills and added 62 blocks while hitting a team-high .324 for the season.
Fahy, a senior setter, earned first-team all-league honors for the second straight season after leading TU with 825 assists and added 246 digs as well. The Davenport, Iowa native finishes her Taylor career with 3,182 assists and 1,058 digs.
Sophomore Becca Gerig earned second-team All-Crossroads League honors after leading the Trojans with 262 kills. The Archbold, Ohio native finished second on the team with 283 digs in 104 sets played.
The Trojans also had a pair of honorable mention honorees in juniors Alex Reel and Kelly Arnold. Reel was the TU libero and finished with a team-high 468 digs, ranking sixth in the league. Arnold, an outside hitter for the Trojans, battled injury throughout much of the season but still managed 179 kills to also earn honorable mention recognition.
Mount Vernon Nazarene's Annelise Rohr was named the Crossroads League Player of the Year while the Cougars' Paul Swanson was honored as the Coach of the Year after leading MVNU to the Crossroads League regular season and tournament championships.
