Five Trojans Receive All-Crossroads League Honors

AVON, Ohio. – Amanda Adams, Samantha Korn, Haley Harrell, Ryan Czerniak and Nicki Sechrist each earned All-Crossroads League Honors, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Adams and Korn were First-Team All-Crossroads League selections for the first time in their careers. Adams put together an outstanding season for the Trojans as an outside hitter, collecting career-highs in total kills and kills per set. The sophomore ranked third in the Crossroads League and 28th in the NAIA with 424 kills, while averaging 3.4 kills per set, landing second in the Crossroads League.
Korn pulled in first-team honors for her 2018 campaign after drawing an honorable mention last season. 697 digs and 5.4 digs per set were career-highs from the junior libero, who led the Crossroads League in both categories. Korn also ranked 16th for total digs and 27th for digs per set in the NAIA.
Harrell and Czerniak each earned Second-Team All-Crossroads League honors for TU. Senior Harrell was honored by the Crossroads League for a third-consecutive season on Monday, landing first-team honors in 2016 and second-team recognition in 2017. The senior setter posted incredible numbers once again, ranking third in the Crossroads League and 12th in the NAIA with a career-high 1,254 assists, finishing her career with the seventh-most assists in program history with 3,441. Harrell also ranked 10th in the Crossroads League with 488 digs.
Czerniak accumulated multiple honors on Monday, notching Second-Team and All-Freshman All-Crossroads honors. The 5-11 freshman finished the season with 278 kills and 2.3 kills per set, ranking among the top-20 in the Crossroads League for both categories. Czerniak was stellar throughout the season, gathering 13 double-digit kill outings.
Earning an honorable mention from the Crossroads League, Sechrist put together an impressive rookie campaign, despite being hampered by injuries. Sechrist utilized a powerful swing to grab 197 kills and a .183 hitting percentage in 2018.
