HARTFORD CITY, Ind. – The Crossroads League announced its weekly awards on Monday afternoon, with Taylor's Kevin Fahy claiming the honor for the league's top hitter during the week of March 23-29.
Fahy earned the first Crossroads League Player-of-the-Week honor of his career by hitting .857 with a double, four runs, six runs batted in and two stolen bases in a pair of Taylor victories over Purdue North Central.
The junior centerfielder went 4-4 with two runs and four RBI in TU's 10-4 victory, before going 2-3 with two more runs, two RBI and two steals in the 8-1 nightcap victory. Fahy drove in the game-winning run in the first game, before scoring the eventual game-winner in the second contest.
Fahy joins Jake West and Josh DeGraaf to give the TU baseball program three Crossroads League weekly awards this season. Taylor now has 55 weekly honors from the Crossroads League and Mid-States Football Association during the 2014-2015 campaign.
Fahy and the Trojans (14-9, 2-4 CL) will be back in action on Tuesday afternoon when they host Spring Arbor (12-5, 5-1 CL) in a 1:00 pm doubleheader.
