Pentecost Recognized as Crossroads League Pitcher of the Week
JACKSON, Mich. – Gabel Pentecost was named the Crossroads League Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Monday, as announced by the league for performances spanning Feb. 10-16.
Pentecost's honor is the third of his career after he picked up two weekly awards in 2024 en route to earning the title of Crossroads League Pitcher of the Year.
The Fremont, Indiana, native propelled No. 19 Taylor to a 10-4 win on Feb. 13 to open the series at RV St. Thomas. Pentecost gave the Trojans a five-inning start in which he surrendered just one unearned run on three hits while striking out nine Bobcats.
The right-hander earned the win, his second of the season and 16th of his career, as he improved his ERA to 2.40 across 15 innings pitched in 2025. He also boasts a 21:4 strikeout-to-walk ratio on the season.
No. 19 TU (7-4) is slated to play Madonna (5-1) next. The location of the series has been moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky, at Bowling Green High School. Stay tuned to TaylorTrojans.com for further schedule updates.
