Combs Collects Crossroads League Offensive Player of the Week Award

JACKSON, Mich. – The Crossroads League announced its weekly awards, with Pete Combs collecting his first CL Offensive Player-of-the-Week award by leading Taylor to a pair of road wins in CL play.
Combs averaged a potent 21 points throughout the week on an efficient 72 percent shooting from the field. The forward was 16-21 from inside the arc and 2-4 from three-point land. Combs added seven assists on the offensive end while grabbing nine rebounds, two steals and a block in an impressive week.
The Bloomfield, Indiana native began the week helping TU overcome a slow start to defeat Saint Francis (7-9, 2-5 CL) 84-72 on the road. Combs poured in 17 points and a career-high six assists as TU shot 52.5 percent from the field as a team.
Combs carried the Trojan offense in a dominant victory against RV Huntington (12-5, 3-4 CL), scoring one fewer than his career best with 25 points. The big man was the only Trojan to score more than 12 in the contest and shot 10-13 from the field including a pair of triples.
TU student-athletes have already garnered 40 Crossroads League and MSFA Player-of-the-Week awards, along with six NAIA National Athlete-of-the-Week honors during the 2025-26 school year.
RV Taylor (14-3, 6-1 CL) continues Crossroads League action with a matchup against Spring Arbor (9-8, 2-5 CL) on Wednesday, January 14th on the road, with tip set for 7:30 pm.
