GREENWOOD, Ind. – Pete Combs was named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American on Tuesday after an incredible season on the court and in the classroom at Taylor.
The junior forward was named a Second-Team CSC Academic All-American after earning a 3.66 GPA in his finance courseload.
Combs averaged 14.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, while shooting an efficient 62.8 percent from the field, which was second in the Crossroads League and top-35 in the NAIA and 42.9 percent from beyond the arc. Combs was the only player in the top 55 of the NAIA in field goal percentage to make at least 20 three pointers this season. Combs' dynamic presence in the post helped Taylor earned an at-large bid to the NAIA National Tournament for the first time since 2016-2017.
The Bloomfield, Indiana native blossomed as a starter in a featured role this year after coming off the bench for the last two seasons and will look to continue his growth next year as the Trojans build on a successful campaign.
Combs is the fifth Trojan to earn CSC Academic All-American Honors this season, joining Ellie Frey, Eliza Luttrell, Campbell Massey, and Reid Messer, and the first for men's basketball since Jason Hubbard after the 2021-2022 season.
