Trojan Men Deliver Strong Showing in Louisville
LOUISVILLE – The No. 13 Taylor (45-21) men's cross country team competed in the Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday morning, placing 19th out of 46 teams, which included squads from NCAA Division I and II and nine fellow ranked NAIA teams.
The Trojans finished ahead of five teams that are ranked or receiving votes in the NAIA, including No. 17 Lewis Clark in the blue division race.
Nathan Burns led the way for Taylor for a third-consecutive race with an impressive 19th-place finish individually. Luke Harber continued his sensational sophomore season, coming in second for the Trojans once again, this time in 44th overall.
Rounding out the top five for TU were Zach McKowen, Ben Eiffert, and Zane Callison, with Ryan Hanak and Alex Ortiz also finishing in the top 230 of the 431 runners.
TU had nine more runners compete in the silver division, with Jordan Burden pacing them with a 79th-place finish, with a time of 27:23.00.
The Trojans are off until Saturday, October 21, when they will travel to Omaha, Nebraska, for the Blazing Tiger NAIA Classic in the final preparations before the Crossroads League Championships on Friday, November 3.
