Six Trojans Named Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes

KANSAS CITY – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) announced its list of 2017 Daktronics NAIA women's volleyball scholar-athletes last week, with six members of the Taylor volleyball team earning the honor.
Kayla Springer, Laura Craig, Becca Gerig, Rachel Bouma, Addy Bailey, and Haley Harrell each earned recognition as Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2017 season.
In order to be eligible to be named an NAIA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved junior academic status at their current institution.
Taylor's six NAIA Scholar-Athletes matches Indiana Wesleyan, Goshen, and Spring Arbor for the most in the Crossroads League. In all, 556 volleyball student-athletes earned the distinction nationwide.
