Amanda Adams Named NAIA All-American

Kansas City – On the heels of a stellar senior campaign, Taylor outside hitter Amanda Adams was recognized for her achievements on the court on May 4, being named to the NAIA Honorable Mention All-American team as announced by the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics.
With her selection, Adams becomes the first Taylor volleyball player to be named an NAIA All-American since Samantha Korn in 2018 and the 18th Taylor athlete to garner an All-American accolade this year. Additionally, the Heath, Ohio native becomes the 17th NAIA All-American in program history.
Adams started 14 of Taylor's 18 matches in 2020, leading the team and ranking fourth in the Crossroads League in kills with 269. Furthermore, the senior ranked first in the Crossroads League, and 13th in the NAIA, in kills per set (4.1), while also leading the Trojans in total points (286.5) and points per set (4.4).
Adams collected double-digit kills in 16 of Taylor's 18 matches, including a season-high 25 against Huntington on September 8, while also recording six double-double performances. Along with her offensive prowess, Adams served as one of the Trojans' top defenders, ranking third in digs with 163.
Throughout her career in the Purple and Gold, Adams has been named First-Team All-Crossroads League three times, while also being named the Crossroads League Attacker-of-the-Week on four occasions. Additionally, Adams became the 22nd member of TU's 1000-Kill Club on September 11 and the first since Becca Gerig accomplished the milestone in 2017.
The NAIA Volleyball All-American list consisted of 92 student-athletes, with 14 spots on each the first, second, and third teams and 50 on the honorable mention list.
