Trojans End National Championships in Gulf Shores

GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Taylor men's track and field team wrapped up the final day of competition at the 2021 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships.
Sam Hardy and Connor White kicked off the day in the 3,000-meter steeplechase finals. Hardy, a senior, ended his collegiate career with a 12th-place finish and recorded a time of 9:39.50. White finished 16th overall with a time of 10:10.56.
In the pole vault, Damon Knowles cleared a height of 4.80-meters. Knowles claimed 10th place out of 21 vaulters.
Derek Van Prooyen ended the championships with the 5,000-meter finals. Van Prooyen fought through a competitive race and ended ninth overall. The junior just missed earning All-American honors, crossing the line only 0.80 off of the eighth place finisher.
Over the three-day meet, the Trojans finished with two All-Americans and tallied a total of four points, ending in 64th place overall.
