Trojan Men Open Crossroads League Championships in Fourth
MARION, Ind. – The Taylor men's outdoor track and field team sits in fourth place with 16 points through Thursday's slate at the Crossroads League Championships, hosted by Indiana Wesleyan.
Running in their first 10,000-meters of the season, Hunter Smith and Zach McWatters both scored for the Trojans. The freshman Smith placed fourth, completing the event in 33:19.47, while McWatters finished eighth to grab a point.
In the 110-meter hurdles, Spencer Stout recorded the team's best time of the season at 15.11 seconds to take second.
Lyndon Miller notched a pair of points for finishing seventh in the high jump with a mark of 1.81 meters, and TU closed the day with a flurry of seven points in the pole vault.
Josh Forbes grabbed fourth place by clearing a height of 4.50 meters, and Nathan Samson claimed seventh in his vaulting debut in the outdoor season.
The Trojans finish the CL Championships on Friday with a busy day of running events lined up for head coach Derek Gay's squad.
