Stayte Advances to Steeplechase Finals at Nationals

MARION, Ind. – Day one of the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships commenced on Wednesday, with Joel Mumaw and Jared Stayte representing the Taylor men.
Stayte advanced to finals in the 3,000-meters steeplechase, taking both sixth in his heat and sixth overall with a time of 9:21.04.
The showing for Stayte marked the junior's second best of his career, and it comfortably placed him inside the top 14 advancing to finals in the event, set for Friday at 1:20 p.m.
Mumaw capped his Nationals appearance in the 1,500 meters, clocking a 4:01.71 to finish 13th overall, just 0.16 seconds short of advancing.
Taylor continues national-championship competition on Thursday with Luke Harber and Ryan Hanak running in the 5,000 meters, scheduled for 7:35 p.m.
