TU Indoor Track Takes Nine All-American Honors
UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor men's and women's indoor track and field programs recently competed at the NAIA National Championships, with the men's team finishing in 15th and the women ending in 26th. Along the way, TU collected nine NAIA All-American awards from eight student-athletes over five events at the three-day meet.
Jaynie Halterman led the way by defending her individual title in the 5,000-meters, and joining Malarie Pinwar, Nicole Braz Domene and Addie Draper to earn All-American honors in the distance-medley relay. Halterman was also named the meet's Outstanding Performer.
On the men's side, Josh Forbes highlighted the group with All-American honors in the pole vault, with Nathan Burns earning All-American honors in the 3,000-meters and Joel Mumaw and Jared Stayte doing so in the mile.
In addition to the All-American performances, Taylor set three new program records at the National Championships, with Burns doing so in the 3,000 and joining with Mumaw, Wade Jones and Bryce Noble in setting a new DMR mark. On the women's side, Halterman broke her own NAIA and Taylor record in the 5,000.
