Trojans Climb to No. 19 in NAIA Coaches’ Top 25 Poll
NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After tying its program record for most consecutive victories, the Taylor University women's soccer team jumped five spots to No. 19 while making its second consecutive appearance in the NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released on Wednesday afternoon.
TU (9-1-0, 1-1-0 CL) has now appeared in back-to-back Top 25 Polls for the first time since the later portion of the 2023 campaign. TU last appeared in three consecutive polls during the middle of the 2018 season.
The Crossroads League continues to prove as one of the toughest conferences across the NAIA, with five CL squads sitting among the Top 25 teams this week including No. 3 Marian, No. 7 Indiana Wesleyan, No. 14 Spring Arbor and No. 18 Grace, who received just four votes more than TU.
Since cracking the Top 25 Poll two weeks ago at No. 24, TU has posted two wins in three outings, highlighted by a ranked road victory over then-ranked No. 11 Aquinas.
Last week, the Trojans split the opening week of conference play and will look to bounce back from Saturday's narrow 1-0 setback to IWU, who jumped one spot to seventh in the poll. The Trojans return to action with a pair of road matches this week, starting with Wednesday's league contest at Goshen before traveling to nationally-ranked Spring Arbor on Saturday.
The Trojans enter the seventh week of the season leading the Crossroads League and ranked 10th nationally in shots per game (22.5), while sitting tied for 18th nationally in goals per game (3.60). Defensively, the Trojans are tied for third in the country for most shutouts (6), while conceding the third-fewest goals (4) this season by any team.
The 9-1 start marks the sixth time in 10 seasons that TU has only suffered one or fewer losses across the opening 10 matches, matching streaks from 2016 (9-1-0), 2018 (8-1-1), 2019 (8-1-1), 2022 (9-0-1) and 2023 (7-1-2).
Keiser remains in the first-place spot in the third Top 25 poll of the season, securing 14 first-place votes. William Carey and Marian each climbed one spot to second and third, respectively.
