INDIANAPOLIS – The Crossroads League announced its 2015-2016 Preseason All-Crossroads League Team and Coaches Poll at the league's annual media day on Monday, with Kyle Stidom earning preseason recognition for the Trojans.
Stidom was one of 13 student-athletes from the 10-team league to be named Preseason All-Crossroads League and was the lone Trojan on the list after earning All-Crossroads League honors following each of his previous two seasons with TU.
The slashing guard led Taylor in scoring, rebounding and steals in each of the past two years, and enters his final collegiate campaign needing 33 points to reach 1,000 in his TU career.
During the 2014-2015 season, Stidom averaged 14.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 0.9 steals per outing, leading Taylor in scoring and rebounding 15 times each. Stidom shot 50 percent from the floor and poured in 20-or-more points seven times, while ending the year ranked No. 4 in the NAIA with an 88.1-percent rate from the free throw line.
Stidom will be joined by sophomore Keaton Hendricks and senior Jordan Richardson as returning starters for the Trojans in 2015-2016. Stidom and Hendricks paced TU in scoring one year ago, combining for 27.0 points per contest.
Taylor posted a two-win improvement in head coach Josh Andrews' second year, finishing 13-17 overall in 2014-2015. TU is set to return those three starters among seven returning lettermen and was picked to finish eighth in the preseason poll.
TU will open its 2015-2016 season in the Rio Grande Tournament on November 6 and 7, after playing an exhibition contest at NCAA Division I Butler on October 31 at 2:00 pm.
