UPLAND, Ind. – Jason Hubbard added another accomplishment to his standout 2021-2022 campaign, earning a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District Team as one of only 25 NAIA student-athletes to make the prestigious list.
Hubbard netted his first CoSIDA Academic All-District honor with a 3.42 cumulative grade-point average in sport management.
The Miamisburg, Ohio native is in the midst of his best season yet with the Purple and Gold on the court, averaging 23.0 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game to lead the team in all three categories. Through the season's first 28 games, Hubbard leads the Crossroads League in scoring and sits sixth in the NAIA in points per game. Hubbard also ranks third in rebounds and third in blocks per game among all CL competitors.
The CoSIDA Academic All-District award is designed to showcase student-athletes for outstanding work in the classroom, as well as on the field or court of play. In order to be eligible for the honor, an athlete must have a cumulative GPA of 3.30, must have reached sophomore status academically with at least one full year at their current institution and must have participated in over half of the team's contests as a key contributor during the current season.
Student-athletes are nominated for the award by their institution's Sports Information Department and selected via a national vote by CoSIDA members.
Taylor now boasts 36 CoSIDA Academic All-District awards so far during the 2021-2022 year, leading all universities across all levels of NCAA and NAIA.
With his selection as a CoSIDA Academic All-District performer, Hubbard will now advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-American ballot, with those results set to be announced on March 17.
