Men's Track & Field Fourth At Anderson Invitational
ANDERSON, Ind. – The Taylor men's indoor track and field team claimed fourth place among 14 teams at the Anderson Invitational on Saturday
Matt Hall won the mile run with a time of 4:24.22 while Joe Beamish finished fourth with a time of 4:43.70 to highlight a couple of the Trojans' top performances.
Senior Kenny Higgins finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 16.04 meters and added a fourth place finish in the shot put with a toss of 13.90 meters. Sophomore Harry Dantona recorded a toss of 13.91 meters to log a sixth place finish in the weight throw.
Tanner Dye added a second place finish in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 8:59.62 while TU's Zach Warner (9:10.17) and Clayton Orender (9:18.90) finished fifth and eighth, respectively.
Schalk Van Niekerk claimed fourth place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:02.13 while David Rodman and Kyle Shelton added strong performances as well, finishing sixth and seventh, respectively.
Nolan Sponseller and Noah Clayton were impressive in the 200 meter dash, finishing third and fourth, respectively.
The Trojans' 4x400 relay team of Sponseller, Shelton, Noah Clayton, and Eric Croft added a third place finish with a time of 3:36.02.
The Trojans return to action at the Hoosier Invitational and Indiana University in Bloomington on Friday and Saturday.
