Jones Sprints to Trojans’ Top 200-Meter Time
JOLIET, Ill. – Wade Jones highlighted the short list of Taylor men's outdoor track and field who participated Saturday at the Saint Francis Fighting Chance Meet, nabbing the Trojans' top 200-meter time of the season.
The freshman Jones took seventh of 52 sprinters in the event, just missing out on the NAIA B Standard with a personal-best finish of 21.56 seconds.
In the 400-meters, Bradley Braxton had a strong eighth-place finish out of 36 participants with a time of 50.62 seconds.
Orlando Chatwell ran in both the 200- and 400-meter events, completing the races in 22.8 and 52.53 seconds.
Spencer Stout completed the 400-meter hurdles in 56.31 seconds to grab seventh in the event, and he produced his second-best time in the 110-meter hurdles for a fifth-place showing at 15.0 seconds even.
Ethan Morgan and Grayson Rasmus competed in the 800- and 1,500-meters, respectively, clocking in at 1:58.18 and 4:19.82.
Taylor looks ahead to its final scheduled event of the season, with its top athletes preparing for the NAIA Outdoor National Championships in Marion, Indiana, held from May 21-23.
