Crossroads League Championships Central
MARION, Ind. – The Taylor men's distance-medley relay team of Joel Mumaw, Orlando Chatwell, Bryce Noble and Nathan Burns highlighted the opening day of the 2026 Crossroads League Indoor Track and Field Championships for the Trojans, setting the new TU record in the event and finishing second overall.
The unit posted a time of 10:04.77, edging the prior Taylor record of 10:04.95 set in 1999. The time was also the fourth-fastest time in the event this season in the NAIA and automatically qualified the group for NAIA Nationals.
Josh Forbes also turned in a runner-up finish in the pole vault with a height for 4.75 meters to once again hit the NAIA-A standard.
TU's other top performance on Friday came in the 5,000-meters, with Jordan Burden scoring for the squad with a fourth-place finish and a time of 15:07.38.
Taylor closed the opening day of the league meet in fifth place in the team standings with 24 points and will look to improve its position throughout Saturday's final slate of events.
