UPLAND, Ind. – Taylor is set to host the Crossroads League Softball Tournament, beginning with a pair of play-in games on Tuesday afternoon at Gudakunst Field.
Taylor (30-20, 19-17 CL) begins the tournament with a matchup against Spring Arbor (12-35, 12-24 CL) in the first play-in game, with first pitch scheduled for 1:30 pm.
The Trojans are the five seed and if they are able to advance, will play Saint Francis (27-19, 20-16 CL) in the first round after splitting with the Cougars earlier this week via a walk-off home run by Delaney Barton.
Livie Lehmann has led a potent offense at the plate with an incredible season. The junior set the single-season RBI record against Saint Francis and is sitting on 65 runs driven in, while the junior also became the program record holder in career doubles with 63, as she has had at least 20 in all three years in purple and grey.
Inside the circle, Mackenzie Noah has led Taylor and holds multiple program career records, including innings pitched, games started, and appearances. Taylor has struggled to finish the year, dropping four of its past six games, but will look to get hot at the right time in the tournament.
