Trojans Conclude Regular Season at IWU Invitational
MARION, Ind. – The depth of the Taylor men's golf team was on display on Monday as both the Taylor A and B teams finished in the top four at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational.
Senior Tucker Fahlen and sophomore Jordan Hall each earned spots on the All-Tournament team to lead the Taylor B team to a third place finish in the 36-hole, one-day event. Fahlen fired rounds of 76 and 78 to finish fourth and Hall shot 78-77 to finish in a tie for fifth place. The Trojan B team also counted scores from Nathan Edwards (81-78), Seth Neal (83-83), and senior Grant Hall (91-77).
Junior Stefan Fahlen finished in a tie for seventh with rounds of 80 and 76 to lead the Taylor A team. Freshman Mitch Lamping added a top-ten finish (78-79) for TU while the Trojans also counted scores from freshmen Nick Waskom (82-81) and Trey Turner (87-82), as well as senior Nate Scheibe (83-81).
Indiana Wesleyan claimed the title on their home course with a two-round total of 615. Mount Vernon edged out Taylor's second team for second place at 627 while the Trojan B team fired 628 and the TU A team shot 640.
Both Trojan teams finished ahead of Crossroads League teams Spring Arbor and Huntington as well as Indiana Tech.
The tournament marked the end of the regular season for the Trojans who will now turn their attention to next week's Crossroads League Championship slated for Monday and Tuesday at Glendarin Hills Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
