Waskom Named CL Golfer of the Week
Crossroads League Release | Taylor Honors Page
HARTFORD CITY, Ind. – Fresh off the first victory of his young collegiate career last week, Taylor freshman Nick Waskom has been named the Crossroads League men's golfer of the week, the league office announced Monday.
Waskom fired the only under par round in the 74-player field during the first round of the Huntington Invitational at Rock Hollow Golf Course on Friday. Waskom's 2-under par round of 70 was a career-low round for the freshman from Columbus, Ind., and delivered a victory when Saturday's final round was canceled due to inclement weather.
Waskom is the first TU player to be honored as the golfer of the week this year.
Taylor concluded its regular season on Monday at the Indiana Wesleyan Invitational and will now turn their attention to next week's Crossroads League Championship slated for Monday and Tuesday at Glendarin Hills Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
