Bio
2015 at Taylor: Hiers played in 41 games and started in 13 for Taylor as the Trojans finished with a 36-16 record…Spent some time playing at shortstop and in the outfield but was utilized primarily as a pinch runner…Totaled three hits with a double, two walks, an RBI, a stolen base and 16 runs scored on the season…A Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete and Academic All-Crossroads League recipient.
2014 at Taylor: Played in 48 games and started in 43 as a shortstop…Taylor finished 42-17 overall for the most wins in program history for a season, highlighted by a Crossroads League regular season and tournament title and the program’s first win in the NAIA National Tournament, a 4-3 victory in extra-innings over Georgetown (Ky.)…Hiers scored the winning run as a pinch runner in the historic win over Georgetown, rounding home on a walk-off double from Karon Earley…Batted .292 on the season with an on-base percentage of .380 and slugging percentage of .406…Totaled 31 hits with six doubles and two home runs, scoring 30 runs and driving in 15…Swiped 11 bases in 11 attempts…Named Capital One Academic All-District.
2013 at Taylor: Started in 37 games for the Trojans in her freshman campaign…Batted for an average of .266 with an on-base percentage of .333 and slugging percentage of .367…Produced 29 hits on three doubles, a triple and two home runs…Both home runs came in a 8-0 win over Union (Ky.) on March 8, as Hiers went 3-4 with three runs scored and two RBI…Came around to score 18 runs and produced 10 RBI on the year…Stole seven bases on nine attempts.
Prep: Hiers is from New Wilmington, Pennsylvania and attended Wilmington Area High School…Lettered four years in softball and was named an All-County All-Star each season…Was an Athlete of the Year nominee for the high school her senior year and claimed First Team All-Region honors…Also played club softball with Silvercreek…Was a high honor roll student and the salutatorian of her class.
