Neideck and Brinkruff Finish Top Two in Steeplechase in Season Opener
MARION, Ind. – The Taylor women's track and field program began the outdoor season this weekend with a solid showing at the IWU Polar Bear Challenge.
Highlighting the action was a one-two finish in the Steeplechase for Ahna Neideck and Audrey Brinkruff. The pair ran away from the rest of the field and hit qualifying marks as Neideck hit the NAIA A Standard with a time of 10:56.66 and Brinkruff hit the NAIA B Standard at 11:19.03.
Taylor had three runners in the 5,000-meters as Sam Patterson led the Trojans with a third-place finish. Patterson finished with a time of 18:09.39, Jackie McCoy next in eighth at 19:00.61, and Zoe Dinius finished with a mark of 20:27.02.
Lastly, Nadia Rhoades competed in the High Jump and cleared a height of 1.50 meters in her first collegiate outdoor competition.
The Trojans continue their outdoor season on Saturday, April 6, with their lone home meet in the George Glass Invitational.
