Pinwar Rolls Into Saturday Finals in Mile

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Malarie Pinwar and Kiana Siefert competed for the Taylor women's track and field program on Friday at the NAIA National Championships, with Pinwar racing in the mile and Siefert participating in the long jump and 60-meter hurdles.
Pinwar highlighted the afternoon for TU, advancing to Saturday's finals in the mile by taking seventh overall in the preliminaries. Pinwar posted a time of 5:00.12 to take fourth in her heat with the fastest time of the season in the event for Taylor by six seconds.
Siefert then pulled double-duty with the long jump starting at 12:00 pm and the 60-hurdles at 12:30. Siefert posted a mark of 18-00.25 to finish 17th in the long jump, before taking 16th in the hurdles with a time of 8.84.
Pinwar will lead off the action for Taylor again on Saturday, racing in the mile finals at 12:25. Jaynie Halterman and Sam Patterson will then follow in the 5,000-meters at 3:55, with the DMR squad of Pinwar, Nicole Braz Domene, Emersyn Funk and Halterman closing the afternoon with a 4:40 start time.
