Siefert Sets 100-Meter Hurdles Program Record at Fighting Chance Invite
JOLIET, Ill. – Kiana Siefert set the program record in the 100-meter hurdles with a sizzling time of 13.92 to place second in a highly competitive field.
Siefert's new program record is the latest remarkable feat for the senior as she has also provisionally qualified in three separate events, the 100-meter hurdles, long jump and heptathlon. Siefert also competed in the long jump on Saturday
Claire Bailey posted a season-best time in the 400-meter hurdles at 1:03.53, while Annabel Parker also set her personal best in the event at 1:05.21. The pair also joined Siefert in the 100-meter hurdles with finishes of 15.57 and 16.27.
Taylor had a trio of athletes compete in the sprints beginning in the 100-mters as Nicole Braz Domene led the group with a season-best time of 12.40. D'Arjha Davis followed at 12.48 and Adrienne McKean finished at 12.93 before Davis and Braz Domene clocked times of 25.87 and 26.01 respectively in the 200-meters.
Braz Domene competed in the 400-meters finishing in 1:00.38. The sophomore then teamed up with Siefert, Davis and Blessing Ogbeiwi in the 4x100-meter relay to clock a time of 47.76.
The final Trojan to compete on Saturday was Emerson Meredith in the pole vault, where the freshman cleared a height of 10 feet seven inches.
Taylor finishes the season at the NAIA National Championships beginning Wednesday, May 20th in Asheville, North Carolina at the Karl Straus Track.
