JACKSON, Mich. – Kiana Siefert collected her second CL Outdoor Field Athlete-of-the-Week award of the year after a terrific display at the Crossroads League Championships.
Siefert began the meet with a win in the long jump on day one, leaping 18 feet 8.5 inches in her first attempt to outperform the field by two inches. The junior also set the fastest time in the 100-meter hurdle preliminary round on the opening day to secure a spot in the final.
The two-sport athlete came back to the field on day two and collected another spot on the podium, with a third-place finish in the triple jump by jumping 36 feet 11 inches. Siefert then returned to the track and finished third in the 100-meter hurdles for a trio of All-Crossroads League honors.
The junior's day was not finished as she was the third leg of the 4x100-meter relay team, which finished fourth before completing a busy meet with a time of 1:09.54 in the 400-meter hurdles.
Altogether, Siefert helped secure 27 points for the Trojans and was named the Crossroads League Female Athlete-of-the-Meet for a second-straight season.
Taylor will send a handful of athletes to Joliet, Illinois, for the Saint Francis Fighting Chance meet on Friday, May 9th, beginning at noon.
