A Quintet of Trojans Collect NAIA All-American Honors

UPLAND, Ind. – The Taylor outdoor track and field team wrapped up their season at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Asheville, North Carolina last week. A quintet of Trojans earn NAIA All-American Honors in the event with incredible performances.
The women had a trio of NAIA All-Americans, led by Kiana Siefert who began the competition with an outstanding performance in the long jump, finishing fifth and recording a personal best leap of 19 feet four inches.
Sam Patterson then collected her first All-American nod in the steeplechase with Malarie Pinwar was the final women to earn All-American status with an eighth-place finish in the 5,000-meters.
The men had a pair of athletes deliver runner-up finishes with Jared Stayte in the steeplechase running a career-best 9:04.45 and Joel Mumaw in the 1,500-meters, which allowed Taylor to finish in 16th.
In order to receive NAIA All-American recognition, an athlete or relay must advance to the finals at the NAIA National Championships and record a top-eight finish.
